"Giving Birth...should be your greatest achievement not your greatest fear" - Jane Weidemen
Thank you so much for dropping by, its a pleasure to have you visit.
A bit about me, I was born in Mauritius, therefore speak French and migrated to Australia when I was 8 years old. I grew up in Melbourne. I started my career as a nurse and have worked for various organisations over the years. I studied midwifery after the birth of my first child in 2008. In the field of maternity I work as a midwife, doula (birth support) and childbirth educator. I specialise in preparation for labour and birth no matter how your birth unfolds, I want mums to have a positive experience. My skillset is mindfulness and active birthing for labour and birth preparation.
The birth of my first child plays an enormous role for choosing to become a midwife and the birth of my second child plays its part in choosing to become a childbirth educator. I love being a childbirth educator and provide birth support to families because I feel rewarded by the satisfaction and genuine response I receive from the mothers and support partners I work with. Working with a family during a milestone experience in their lives is a real pleasure.
I strongly believe independent pregnancy, labour and birth preparation is crucial in achieving a satisfied birth experience that reflects adequate knowledge, confidence and support so families make informed decisions during one of the most vulnerable periods in their lives. So many women and their partners in the community speak negatively about their birthing experience, I aim at changing that!
Feel free to connect with me and gain a greater insight to my values and perspective on how to have a positive birthing experience.,
