Active Birth Class
The session focuses on the philosophy of active birth ; working with the natural process of the body. A woman works with her body, instinctively following her body's natural desires. When birth occurs spontaneously, a woman in labour can rely on her natural resources to help her and her baby birth.
What does the term active birth mean? As the term suggest, women are encouraged to move around, walk, stay upright (if possible), even dance if desired during labour. A woman is taught how to approach her labour calmly, freely and supported. This type of philosophy is found in many styles of birthing classes including lamaze, calmbirth & hypnobirthing. What about labour pain? Every birthing experience is unique. How one person interprets pain or maybe they don't call it pain but call it sensations or something else is also unique to that person. One thing is for sure, the uterus works hard and its function is limited and rewarding. All you can do is learn how to prepare and work with the process. What do you learn in the 3 hour session; |
